Sorcerer's Stone & a smoothie

Yesterday's post came very late, so today's is coming to you very early. Well, not very early but earlier than normal. I'm currently finishing my breakfast of Cheerios and a banana. Boring? Yes. Delicious? Oh most definitely.

Last night started out pretty boring. I was hanging out w/ Mckenna, keeping her company while she packed. The night took a turn for the better as soon as we decided to watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. But who are we kidding? No movie night is complete without snacks. So we raided her freezer for whatever we could find. Since she's moving and also going on a trip next week, she figured it was best to get rid of some stuff; that stuff being frozen fruit. The only logical concoction of frozen fruit? Smoothies. They were delicious and tart and fruity and freezing cold. Perfect.

So we ate/drank those delectable smoothies (I've never been able to figure out what you do w/ smoothies: eat or drink them. It's kind of a combination of the two) and enjoyed a flashback to our childhoods. Mckenna and I both found a love for Harry Potter very early on when the first few books came out in the US. It was great reminiscing on what our lives were like back when this first movie originally was made. It came out in 2001. We were both 10 years old. We're both now 21. Times change but they also don't. Harry Potter will never change for us.

We marveled at the special effects, which were not all that special compared to what they are now in 2012. We gawked at the cute little tiny humans, who are barely older than us, who play The Trio and other characters. But what seemed to happen most often was exclaiming how ridiculously good-looking many of the actors became as they grew older. It was a marvelous time.

Today should prove to be exciting as well. Life is changing quickly now. But that's a good thing. Today is the first day of the rest of my life, and I couldn't be happier about it.
