I want to start out this post by sharing part of a poem I was just reading. It's by Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz and is part of some Redondillas, which are stanzas of four lines each with eight syllables. This specific poem doesn't really have a title but in brackets before the first line it says [En que describe racionalmente los efectos irracionales del amor] which pretty much translates to "In which I rationally describe the irrational effects of love."

Comida de Dios
La pizza: nunca dejo de comer.
Es una obra maestra adornada,
Ha hecho por la gente muy dedicada.
Después de la comes, debes correr.
Los ingredientes tienen un poder,
Vegetales y carnes cocinadas
Perfectamente, salsa colorada,
Especias, sabores, más que saber.
La deliciosa pizza es una fiesta,
La fiesta que nunca terminará.
Y no, no puedes tomar una siesta.
Es verdad: no la puede escapará.
La pizza jugar mejor que Iniesta.
Pizza es eternidad: no ultimará.
So I wrote this for my Spanish literature class. It's quite the gem, I know. I've got an A coming my way, I just know it. Also, two blog posts in one day. Here's a link to the first one; it's what I like to call actually thought provoking, as opposed to this post about, well, how awesome pizza is. You are some lucky, lucky people. I am just a fountain of knowledge.
