I have but few words, so here's a list instead

So as you'll remember, Tuesday I was too tired to blog so I had Jordan do it for me. That was a great decision.

He wrote about a perfect summer day. I'm trying to come up w/ something to rival that but it just doesn't exist right now. I'm not sure if yesterday was perfect but it was quite brilliant as far as Wednesdays are concerned. I have no complaints regarding yesterday, but it's not a day that's easily described.

It's best to call it awesome and leave it at that. It really was awesome for a lot of reasons too. So have a list of why yesterday was awesome. (This reminds me of when 5AG was still completely a thing. I miss those days.)

  • At Ikea, Jordan and I found the perfect couch.
  • Visiting Ikea in general. (The Swedes know what they're doing when it comes to interior design, that's for sure.)
  • I had a grilled cheese panini w/ pesto as part of my dinner.
  • Stacy shared her mango with me.
  • We, as in Stacy and I, saw The Hunger Games at the dollar theatre and it was as epic as ever.
  • Becca told me she's starting to make her unique brooch bouquet for her wedding. Let's not forget that Becca IS NOT GETTING MARRIED. At least not anytime soon. Like, at all.
I mean, any day that includes Ikea is automatically wonderful so all the other stuff is just bonus niceness.

Enjoy the rest of your summer, my friends. School fast approaches.

YouTube refreshing

I realized tonight how often I refresh the YouTube homepage. Whenever I don't have something to watch or I'm just bored I command+R the crap out of my subscription box, somehow hoping someone will post a new video to watch. Usually I'm waiting for something from ShayCarl, as I been tonight. The thing is, Shay already posted his video hours ago but I'm used to watching them late that I forget.

My love of YouTube is hard to understand for many people. It really is my version of TV. I still watch TV shows, though it's on Hulu or Netflix, and even then it's basically just the NBC Thursday night comedy line-up. Oh, and BBC stuff like Doctor Who and Sherlock. The people I watch on YouTube happen to like/talk about those shows pretty often as well. It's good stuff.

YouTube is so cool in that it allows people to remain connected through video, even when there's thousands and thousands of people watching. It's an interesting feeling, knowing that if I were ever to run into people I watch on YouTube that we'd be probably have a totally awesome conversation. It'd be a little strange, of course, because we wouldn't have ever met in real life and it's always a little bit awkward meeting someone for the first time whether you watch them on the Internet or not. Hopefully some day I can make that happen by going to VidCon.

Today I took one final and I have one more tomorrow, and then my junior year is pretty much done. It's been a crazy semester and an even crazier school year overall. I'll be sure to write a "semester in review" type post when all is said and done.

New glasses & no more work

A few months back when I was visiting my friends at the University of Wisconsin, I bought these epic frames from Urban Outfitters. Yep, the big nerdy kind. Except I had no intention of keeping the plastic lenses inside. Nope. They are now my actual glasses. I have big, black, nerdy glasses. And it is the best thing ever.

Here's a picture from when I first bought them. They still look the same now, I promise.

Yeah, you're all super jealous, I know.

And today was also my last day of work! No more cream cheese packaging! Hooray! I'm pretty ecstatic to be done. A few people I will miss, like my buddy Sam who was another summer help kid; she goes to UW-Oshkosh. There are some awesome full-time people I'll miss talking to on account of how they are hilarious. I'm glad to be done w/ the actual work part for sure. Now it's time to work without getting paid because that's basically what college is.

One down, two to go

About an hour ago I finished my first exam. I got a 90% so that's pretty great. At this point I'm just eating some angel hair pasta. I hope you guys like when I tell you about all the things I eat in a day. It's a habit I've picked up from HayleyGHoover.

Another great thing about getting a 90% of an exam is knowing that only two others stand in my way before going home for the summer. By this time next week I'll be at least in the Midwest so I'm really excited about that fact. Perhaps the best part about going home is stopping in Iowa to see my best friend Kate. This will be the first time seeing her since early January. It's going to be AWESOME.

So in an effort to blog about something more substantial than what I eat and my plans for driving home to Wisconsin, the rest of this post will be comprised of a few of my favorite quotes:

What is that expression in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life. -Walt Whitman

Comedy is simply a funny way of being serious. -Peter Ustinov

There is more to life than increasing its speed. -Dieter F. Uchtdorf

I hope you enjoyed those.
